KAI TAK SPORTS PARK

Sitting on the edge of Kowloon Bay, Kai Tak Sports Park is Hong Kong's first multi-purpose sports, entertainment, and leisure precinct. Built on the site of the former iconic airport, the project required a civic-minded brand capable of positioning the venue as both a local communal space and an international stage. The ambition was to provide world-class facilities while fostering a sense of ownership for the local community.

The strategy focused on transformation, participation, and movement, drawing inspiration from the Enso, a cultural symbol of completeness. This was amplified to consist of shapes flowing into each other, reflecting the six main areas of the park and its evolving purpose. The resulting brand was designed to be energetic and vibrant, using modular components to remain flexible enough to carry an impact across a vast range of applications.

The work involved the delivery of a comprehensive visual system across every touchpoint, including signage, print marketing, and stadium graphics. Close attention was paid to dual-language requirements and cultural sensitivity, ensuring the brand could speak for all aspects of the site. Implementation spanned digital platforms, wayfinding, and event presentations, providing a scalable system for everything from community sports to major international bids.

The identity established the space as an energetic step forward for Hong Kong's international status. It delivered a flexible framework that supports both grassroots engagement and world-class events, adapting seamlessly across different cultures and contexts. By bringing clarity and purpose to a range of outputs, the branding cemented the site as a unified symbol of civic pride and global connection.
