Fedrigoni 365 — 2021
I contributed a design to the Fedrigoni 365 2021 calendar, a collaborative edition by Fedrigoni UK, Ricoh, and TM Studio, featuring almost 1,000 creatives.
overview
Each designer was assigned a number (1–31) and a prompt-word; my number was 12, and my word was “clear”. The 2021 project leveraged variable-data digital printing to generate 4,000 completely unique books.
Concept & Execution
To distort the number, I designed flowing, wave-like shapes that mimic ripples in glass. These glass waves refract and bend the form of “12,” turning it into something that feels familiar but abstract.
Conclusion
My contribution sits alongside hundreds of diverse interpretations in a truly democratic creative project. Fedrigoni 365/2021 was celebrated for its inclusivity and technological marvel, produced with algorithmic compilation and digital finish to ensure every book is one-of-a-kind. Participating in this edition placed me among a global community of designers and typographers who explored purpose, perception, and paper as a medium.
