BLACK ORCHID

This limited-edition collaboration with artist Brandon Sadler merged contemporary craft, wellness, and spiritual symbolism to transform tea drinking into a moment of mindful ritual. The intention was to elevate the unboxing experience into a ceremony of stillness, acting as a counterbalance to an overstimulated world. The project required a translation of complex visual language into a tactile journey that guided users toward presence.

The strategy translated Sadler’s visual language, influenced by Eastern calligraphy and sacred geometry, into an ecosystem where every interaction felt intentional. Materiality, texture, and rhythm were used as tools for grounding, reinforcing a philosophy of balance and flow. The goal was to create a contemporary artefact that was symbolic, functional, and deeply tactile.

Co-leading the creative direction involved overseeing execution across packaging, materials, and communications to ensure total cohesion. The final set featured a sculptural tea vessel, modular compartments, and an artist-led storytelling booklet. These components worked together to form a sensory experience where the act of unboxing itself became a meditative ritual.

The final design blurred the line between product and art object, transforming a simple consumption moment into ceremony. This tea ritual set demonstrated how packaging can transcend utility to invite consumers into mindfulness. By guiding the user experience with intention, the project proved that design can become a powerful ritual in itself
